Murano Glass Jewelry

Our Murano Glass jewels are products of a centuries-old tradition developed and kept alive on the Island of Murano in the Venice Lagoon. They are produced using a particular technique called lampworking, using Murano glass tubes, gold and silver leaf, and other special materials to achieve dazzling results.

Lampworked jewelry is made using semi-finished solid colored glass rods or larger hollow tubes, as well as other materials. The great value of Murano glass jewelry comes from the lampworker's ability to give style to the glass and make it express an artistic concept. The best glass-masters, for example, can achieve exquisite hues by mixing different heated rods together.

La Fondazione offers Murano glass jewelry that is produced through such processes as glassblowing, lampworking, decorating of gold leaf and enameling, engraving, coldworking, stained glass and fusing.

There are only few genuine glass-masters whose persistence, creative curiosity, passion and tradition have won them praise and recognition around the world. La Fondazione is proud to feature the products of such masters.
